Artist Statement

My work is inspired by the world around me, particularly nature and its creatures. As a sculptor, I focus on abstracting animals, making them translate as more fun and whimsical. I aim for my creations to appear as though they could be real but altered from reality. I'm drawn to the tactile, 3D qualities of clay and the painting opportunities it offers, allowing me to transform flat surfaces into dynamic, emerging forms. My goal as a painter is to attract viewers with bold, vibrant colors, drawing them in to explore the intricate details that bring each piece to life.

About the Artist

For Hannah, art has always been a means of expressing ideas beyond words, fueled by her desire to understand and interpret lived experiences. Through her work, she navigates complex emotions and societal issues, creating opportunities for dialogue and reflection.

Hannah’s artistic vision centers on engaging with others who share her passion for exploring the intersections of art, identity, and social change. Through her creations, Hannah aims to provide a sense of connection and representation for those who feel marginalized or unheard.

The Process

Hannah’s artistic process has evolved to embrace more expressive and abstract elements, derived and depicted deeply from her lived experiences. She uses clay and acrylic paint as her primary means of storytelling, conveying her personal narratives through these mediums. Regardless of the material she works with, Hannah always incorporates a paintbrush into her process—it remains her favorite and most indispensable tool. Art is whatever you make it, so look deeper.
